“Dick Donkeys Dawn, a whirling dervish of a documentary, cut fast and full of strange, demented, decadent people. It was hilariously entertaining”. Ken Russell – 2004.

Dower was a founder member of the band ‘Dick Donkeys Dawn’ with Austrian artist Oliver Hangl and UK artist Georgina Starr.
Their live debut was at the John D Rockefeller centre in Oslo, in October ’97 for the project 'Visual Artists Live on Stage'. Performances quickly followed at
Bureau Friedrich in Berlin and several venues in Austria. Between 1997 and 1999, Dick Donkeys Dawn produced songs, music videos and live performances.
As well as producing a number of films to accompany their performance, Dick Donkeys Dawn made a 3D video for their song ‘Boon & Mills’. Dick and Dawn
featured on the cover of London’s Evening Standard Magazine In 1999, in an article on ‘Art school bands’. The DVD ‘Dick Donkeys Dawn – remixes by Dick’
contains videos, with live and recorded material by the band and a documentary, which was shortlisted for the Ken Russell Short Film Award in 2004.
Their final performance was in 1999 at the Technical University in Graz, Austria.

In 2004 the film for ‘Boon & Mills’ was included in the Exhibition
'Video Hits, Art and Music Video' at Queensland Art Gallery, Australia.
