In ‘Clothes Recycling Video’, the artist climbs into a series of clothes recycling containers on the streets of South London. Whilst concealed, life on the outside continues. Inside each container, a new set of clothes is found and 4 or 5 minutes later, Dower emerges transformed. The final set of clothes retrieved corresponds to the first set worn, thus the work forms an endless loop. While nothing appears to have been altered in the world, an intangible displacement of identity has nevertheless taken place.
